Alder, Toronto

Alder absolutely delivers on refined yet approachable dining. The braised lamb was a standout, rich, tender, and deeply flavorful, with perfectly balanced seasoning that let the meat shine. The wood-grilled sea bream was equally impressive: delicate, flaky, and kissed with just the right amount of char from the grill to enhance its natural sweetness.

But the surprise star? The coconut cream pie. Silky, light, and just the right amount of sweet, hands down one of the best I’ve had anywhere.

Service was attentive without being overbearing, and the ambiance strikes that ideal mix of warm and contemporary. Can’t wait to come back.
